Woman killed in Forestdale crash identified

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed earlier today in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Forestdale.

Paulette Bullard, 65, of Birmingham, was killed in the crash at 9:54 a.m. on U.S. 78, authorities said.

Bullard was driving a car, which according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department exited the Forestdale post office into the path of the on-coming tractor-trailer.

Leeds man charged with reckless murder following deadly vehicle crash near Westover

A Leeds man has been charged with reckless murder in the deaths of a Sylacauga mother and two of her children who were killed Friday night in a vehicle accident near Westover, Alabama State Troopers announced tonight.

Jessica Wyatt Fields, 32, of Sylacauga and her two sons, John Clay, 7, and Tony Ray Fields were killed when her 1995 Chevrolet Lumina van collided with a 2004 Ford Mustang, driven by Manley Ray Williams about 10:30 p.m.

Troopers said Williams was traveling south on Shelby 55 when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided into Fields' van, which was traveling east on U.S. 280.

Field's 12-year-old daughter was flown to Children's Hospital in serious condition.

A passenger in Williams' car, Joshua Stokes, received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to UAB hospital.

Williams was treated and released from UAB and arrested on three counts of reckless murder and one count of first-degree assault, authorities said.

One teen killed, another injured in Chilton County crash

One teenager was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle crash this morning in Chilton County, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Ashley Lynne Martin, 18, of Union Springs, was killed in the wreck about 8:15 a.m. today on U.S. 82 about five miles east of Maplesville, troopers report. Martin was the driver of a 2010 Toyota Corolla, troopers report.

A passenger in the car, Shundrea Lakendra Smith, 19, also of Union Springs, was injured in the crash. She was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, according to a trooper's report.

State troopers are investigating the wreck.

Jasper man dies in crash on Alabama 269

Jasper man died Tuesday night in single-vehicle wreck in the County of Walker.

The accident occurred at 10 a.m. on Alabama 269 approximately four miles south of Jasper, according to the Alabama State riders.

James Rucker, 49, driving alone in a Toyota Celica 2003.Détails accident had not been available.

Rucker was delivered to the scene.
