Choosing the Very Best PS3 Games

Choosing the Very Best PS3 Games

With so many great titles on store shelves now, the PS3 has a huge selection of fantastic games to choose from, and it can be downright frustrating making up your mind when you want a new game. There are hundreds of good to jaw dropping games right now, but it’s unlikely that you can buy all of them, so you have to choose just one or two at a time. Even if you don’t buy the best PS3 games on the market, you’re still in for a good time, although if you have just bought a Playstation 3, then knowing which ones are the best will give you a good starting point.

The Best of Each Genre

It’s hard to say what the best PS3 games are because many of them target different audiences, so it clears things up a bit if we say what the best ones are for each genre. That way knowing what you already like in a game will point you in the right direction.

For straight up action games, the best PS3 games are Grand Theft Auto IV and Resistance 2 (you can also pick up the original Resistance, often at a huge discount anymore, although it is not as good as its sequel). While it’s not out quite yet, the early reviews of Killzone 2 are all nothing short of amazing, and when that game goes to retail, it’s safe to assume that it may see such popularity that is only found in games like Halo 3 for the 360.

Unfortunately, if you want good strategy games, you’ll have to go to the PC for the good stuff, as you will for MMOs. That’s because those games work better with a keyboard and mouse, which don’t have widespread acceptance on consoles yet. However, there are several other genres that have the best PS3 games in them yet.

For fighting, check out the newly released Street Fighter 4 (it seems like the PS3 has a lot of the fourth generation titles from franchises – Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Street Fighter 4, etc.). If you’re looking out for a good RPG, look no further than the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII, sure to be as good as all of the others with Square Enix’s track record for Final Fantasy titles. Other titles like Little Big Planet round out the mix for a balanced game library. While figuring out which games should be at the top of your list, always look to the best PS3 games first.
